Welcome to my cake blog! I started by blogging about my family for 3 years over at Tales from Tangerine. I decided to keep that blog just for my family adventures, and create this blog for my cake adventures. That way, my family won't be bored by my cakes and you cake lovers won't be bored by my family stories. Now to explain about the name...
I love birds! This may be due to the fact that I share my name with a certain red-breasted bird. Maybe not. But I am one of those people who think "putting a bird on it" will immediately triple the awesomeness of anything.
I love cake! Yummy deliciousness...what is there not to love? I love to try new recipes and new decorating techniques. Cake is like my canvas, and I love all the creative possibilities.
Good for you!! I'm sure no one minds the other blog having both components but whatever makes you happy. :-) I'm so excited about this ~ and will certainly be a follower.

LOL - putting a bird on ANYTHING is Epic Awesomeness! :o) I'm an Oregonian, so I'm definitely in the Put A Bird On It boat.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, my first thought was "put a bird on it", lol. I've never seen the show though, just a short video clip... but I did live near Portland for two years.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! I found you on pinterest and I can't get enough. I, too, am a cake fanatic (sometimes for money but mostly for fun). I'm making the tie dyed cake for my niece's birthday next month but I need to decide which ones I'm going to try until then. Awesome!! Thank you SO much for sharing and God bless!!!

Deletecongratulations! your cakes are so so so amazing..... thank you
ReplyDeleteI was at a wedding when I was 6 years old, the wedding cake had birds on it and during the entire reception until they served the cake I stood next to the cake and said "I want the piece with the birdie on it!" repeatedly.
ReplyDeleteI also have bird shaped birthday candle holders that my grandfather carved out of wood. In our family it's not a birthday cake unless the little birds are on the cake.
Glad to find someone else who thinks birds belong on cakes!!
I've been thinking of doing a series of collages, things or people all w/a bird on top. I'm taking this coincidence of stumbling across your page through a recipe I pinned, as a nudge to get busy on that project!
ReplyDeleteI love birds too!
I'm going to try your hummingbird and petal cake this weekend for my mothers birthday! She loves hummingbirds and we love food, should be perfect! Found your blog through Pinterest and it's amazing!
