just found your blog and am so impressed. I just took a Wilton cake decorating class. I didn't do very well, but your cake designs inspire me to keep trying. I had a question on your andes mint cake. I emailed you from your contact page. Please let me know if you don't get it. megajill@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi! Loving the look of your apple cider spice cake. I've not seen spice cake mix, or apple butter in the UK which is a shame. I'm definitely going to give it a try with what we do have tho :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! You could use a regular sponge cake mix and add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and ground cloves. Not sure what to use instead of apple butter, though!
DeleteRachel, if you have a bread machine you can take two cups of applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, & allspice to your taste and set it for three hours. You can also cook it on the stove, just takes a little longer.
DeleteLooks YUMMY! :)

Definitively looks like and awesome cake. I will just have to adapt it a bit since it's impossible to find Spice Cake Mix here in France.
ReplyDeleteI will make it like you said in a previous comment, with a Sponge Cake and some spices.
